Grants of up to $100,000 for 1-year projects. All qualified investigators within Missouri who are employees or staff members of any public or private educational, health care, voluntary health associations or research institutions are eligible to apply.

  • Proposal deadline: November 15, 2024. Awards announced Spring 2025.
  • Current recipients of active SCIDRP awards are not eligible for additional SCIDRP funding.

The Spinal Cord Injury/Disease Research Program (SCIDRP) was established by the legislature in 2001 to support research in Missouri that will advance scientific knowledge in the area of spinal cord injuries and congenital or acquired disease processes of the spinal cord.

One of the purposes of the SCIDRP is to encourage young investigators and those new to the field to do exploratory, high-impact research that tests new ideas. Results generated from the SCIDRP grants are expected to be leveraged into larger external proposal submissions to agencies such as the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, or the Department of Defense.
